A patch to the vim C sources was posted to the mail list. Testers and collaborators are encouraged to step forward!
Vim has some existing capabilities for moving data between running instances of vim, but the capabilities are limited. Experiments are possible today as described on TunnelDataInCommands. I've tried to identify the gaps necessary for a useful extension of vim. I created this mailing list to facilitate discussion and development about related features and developments of others in this area.
